Recreational Program

Cook Inlet Soccer Club offers programs for players at all levels of play ranging from 3-18 years of age. Our goal at CISC is to provide every individual the opportunity to play the beautiful game of soccer at any level of competition. We emphasize player development through participation, enjoyment of the game and the desire to excel at your own pace.

We have the largest and most comprehensive Recreational program in the state of Alaska with Youth Licensed coaches ranging from the enthusiastic soccer parent Coach to our own Youth Competitive Players Coaching.

CISC Recreational Program provides sessions during the Summer, Fall and Winter seasons (Indoor during Fall/Winter). U6/U8 teams are COED and have weekly 30-min practices followed by a 30-min match to foster basic fundamentals which will build their confidence as they get older; they meet once a week during the Fall/Winter sessions- twice a week during the Summer session. U10/U12/U14/U16 and U18 teams have a 1-hour practice and a 1-hour match during the week (Fall/Winter); two games a week (Summer) to satisfy their growing desire to play and compete.

Since this is a Recreational Program, we do allow some players to request a Coach/friend or two but do make adjustments in order keep the games fun and challenging.

We have a full-time staff dedicated to:
- Fostering the development and growth of your child in the sport of soccer at any level!
- Providing a fun, safe, most soccer-like atmosphere in AK with a wide range of age groups to challenge any level of player!
- Continuing to provide our coaches with educational and licensing opportunities each season!
- Age appropriate practices that are both fun and challenging!
- Ready to respond to any questions/concerns you may have 7-days a week!

CISC strongly supports the right that each player should get no less than 50% of playing time per game for full player development! We strive to continually maximize your soccer experience around every corner in Anchorage.

“My daughter had just turned 4 the summer she first started soccer.   It was a great experience for her to be on a team and have a non-competitive environment for her first team sport experience.  The coach was great and took the extra time to pass on words of encoragment at every game to the players. The best part about Cook Inlet Soccer Club has been being able to participate in seasons other than just summer.  I asked around to many parents that were involved in soccer about the best league and Cook Inlet Soccer Club consistently was the one recommended.”

Since we have moved to Anchorage, both of my children have participated in Cook Inlet Soccer Club’s recreational and competitive programs over the past 4 ½ years.  I am particularly impressed with the growth shown in the recreational program in this past year.   I notice that the RISL program has blossomed under current leadership and presently exhibits a depth of quality, direction, organization, and support that shines beyond its past record.  For example, maps and schedules are posted at The Dome for immediate participant guidance and reference.  Weekly coaching modules provide coaches with a mixture of instructional and “hands on” age-appropriate training and enthusiastic players with extra field time.  The program facilitator has a great communication network via weekly update emails in place to support coaches and encourage communication with players and parents .  More importantly, CISC is promoting a strong sense of community within the club by encouraging and educating its older youth members to give back to the younger members through coaching.  This is a win-win situation for all involved.   It is apparent that there is a level of commitment and investment in the RISL program that provides our players and coaches with a positive learning environment and opportunities for developing player skills, coaching skills, and the simple enjoyment in the game of soccer.     Thank you, Cook Inlet Soccer Club, for providing such a wonderful opportunity for my family to be involved in a high quality, well-supported soccer program in which they can cultivate their skills and love for the game.

“I have worked with Cook Inlet for a little over a year and although it hasn't been too long, I have my highest respect for CISC. In regards to CISC work ethic, they are very organized, helpful and someone who always willing to give feedback pertaining to ways of teaching our young players and making it interesting and fun for them to learn. CISC has always made sure that each team has the necessary equipment and hasn't failed to make sure that the coaches such as myself, are prepared to complete each session of soccer.

The staff has taken time out of their schedule to answer MANY of my questions and I mean MANY, that I have had and concerns that parents may have for soccer. I not only volunteer to coach soccer, but I also volunteer for my son and daughter's baseball teams and CISC has been more organized than any of those I've been involved with for the past 3 years. I have also volunteered for another soccer club and it wasn't even close to being organized. What impresses me is that the Recreational Program has more teams all year round and not just the summer time such as baseball and everything has run smoothly for me.”
Thanks
