Pre-Competitive
Pre-Competitive is a bridge between recreational and competitive soccer. Our program will help your child hone their skills and develop their confidence to prepare them to play competitive soccer when and if they choose to make the transition from recreational to competitive soccer. Pre-competitive teams are formed from online registrations and invitational assessments. Every player is accepted into the program and is then assessed on their ability and need. The director will make player placements that best suit each child’s individual needs and abilities.
The program is staffed with professional licensed soccer coaches. A director oversees the entire program, developing a curriculum that each child receives in their training sessions each week. They get the benefits of working with multiple coaches and interacting with other children of similar ability and a desire to learn and grow in the sport of soccer.

Competitive
The competitive program is the highest division of soccer competition in the state. It is performance oriented approach where the competition is taken seriously. Win/loss records are taken into account, although player development is still one of the primary goals of the competitive program. Learning to be the best you can be and work together towards the success of the team is often best learned in a competitive sports environment. Competitive soccer is an opportunity for dedicated soccer players to improve and develop their skills beyond the recreational levels while having fun.
Competitive soccer teams are formed on the basis of player identification and selection. The primary resource of player selection is the annual club tryouts. A tryout is the opportunity for a player to showcase themselves in order to be selected to a team for competition in leagues, tournaments, travel and state cup. Before you can play on a competitive team you must first attend a tryout.
At Cook Inlet Soccer Club players are selected directly out of the pre-competitive program and open tryouts. After tryout attendance, players are selected to one of three teams, blue, white and red; click on the Competitive Program link above for more detail.
