The 2009 US Youth Soccer Region IV Tournament was held in Lancaster California June 15 -21, 2009 at the National Soccer Center.  The top 248 boys and girls teams from 14 Far West State Associations that make up US Youth Soccer Region IV competed for the regional title. Teams played a round robin schedule June 15-17, 2009 followed by a day of rest before qualifying teams advanced to the quarterfinals June 18, 2009, semifinals June 19, 2009 with the championship matches played June 20, 2009. 

Velocity teams walked away from last week’s State championship tournament with four champions and one finalist!
Cook Inlet Soccer Club placed five teams in championship matches and won four out of five championship matches.

Four CISC 2008 State Cup champions didn’t defend their titles in the U-14 boys, U-14 girls, U-15 boys, and U-18 girls.  We had 10 teams represent our club in seven divisions and we placed five teams in championship matches.  That is an amazing ratio of teams advancing.  CISC had teams play in U-12 girls two teams, U-13 girls two teams, U-15 girls one team, U-17 girls one team, U-12 boys two teams, U-13 boys one team, and U-17 boys one team. 

Velocity teams recorded seven league titles and six league finalist, out of 13 leagues, in the UAYSL summer soccer league.

The United Anchorage Youth Soccer League (UAYSL) Summer 2009 League Standings have been posted on the UAYSL website www.uaysl.org.  Results show that CISC won seven of 13 divisions, and were finalist in six of 13 divisions.  It was another good summer for our Club!  Consistent hard work and dedication by the coaches, managers, treasurers, and especially our player and parent pool makes CISC a great TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More).  It was truly a TEAM effort!!!!  Now is the time to prepare for SUCCESS next summer.  Our success for the summer 2010 will be predicated on the work we put in over the fall 2009 / winter-spring 2010 months.

 The CISC Velocity Blue 97G, 98B, and 00G teams traveled to Las Vegas from October 20 to 24 to participate in the 2010 Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup.  All of the teams represented our club very well by playing against top level talent from throughout the west.  

The 98B team (playing at the U13 level) ended up winning their bracket and played against a strong team called the Pajaro Valley Tigres (from the Monterrey, California area) in the Championship of the Rotary Division.  The Tigres had swept through their bracket beating teams by a combined score of 15 to 1.  They
