Earlier this year Cook Inlet SC had two players attend National Teams camps.  Kelly Cobb attended the U-18 WNT Camp in Jan. Taylor Bomar attend the ID2 U16 National Camp in Mar.

We recently had the opportunity to catch these two young ladies to talk about their camp experience and to learn a little bit about each of them.

The season gets underway at the Dome on the boys side this Saturday, 1:15pm with South playing Chugiak, at 3pm, West vs. East.  The Service Girls start their campaign this Saturday at 6pm vs. Dimond.  The Dimond boys will have their season opener on Thursday at 3pm versus Service.

Come out and support both the Cook Inlet Players and Coaches involved with our club, the largest and most successful in the state of Alaska!!!

US Club Soccer id2 is a counter player identification program to US Youth Soccer’s Olympic Development Program (ODP).  Both programs seek to find the best players that can compete and play with our national team program.

Miss Taylor Bomar currently plays for the Velocity 93G Blue team coached by Tim Valesko was recommended by her coach, and our club to participate in this id2 national camp (id2 National Training Camp for 1994-95-96 Girls, Fort Lauderdale, FL).  I believe Taylor is the first Cook Inlet SC player to be nominated and accepted to participate in id2 camp.  This will be a trivial pursuit soccer question one day.  US Club Soccer will receive 1000 nominations from across the country, and after hours of sifting through all the nominations only a small percentage are actually selected to participate.  Taylor has worked had for this achievement putting in the extra time with her coach and mentors Mark Cascolan and Mike Oliver (92 Girls) and most recently Tim Valesko (93 Girls).
